Building Code ServicesCode Review Services provides plan review and code consulting services for fire departments, building departments, architects, contractors and homeowners. Our plan checks are automated to assure consistency and we will contact your local authority having jurisdiction to assure our interpretation of the code is consistent with theirs. We are not completed with your project until a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued by the building official and/or fire chief
Fire Protection ServicesFire Department services include plan review and consulting for fire sprinklers , fire alarms , hazardous materials , exiting and other fire code related items . CRSI is approved by the Nevada State Fire Marshal as a contract consultant. This allows a public entity to contract with CRSI and then sign an Inter-local Agreement with the state so that all construction in the local jurisdiction will not be required to be submitted to the State Fire Marshal. Private designers, contractors and developers can use CRSI on a case by case basis even if the local government has not signed an inter-local agreement. In this case plans would still have to be submitted to the State Fire Marshal, however, once CRSI has approved plans, work can begin without state approval. A project needs state approval prior to a Certificate of Occupancy. For additional information on services go to Contents . We are continually compiling more information to assist designers and fire departments. CRSI is a code enforcement company that will enforce all codes and regulations in a professionals manner to achieve the highest level of life safety required by adopted codes. Fire SprinklersFire sprinkler plan reviews are completely automated and checked for compliance with the latest editions of NFPA 13, 13R and 13D or UBC Standard 9-1. As for all code reviews, we will check for compliance with local ordinances and policies*.We will contact the local fire department to assess their capacities and needs. CRSI will provide a written analysis of the system along with a list of deficiencies. Many jurisdictions allow relief for certain steel buildings components such as curtain boards when ESFR systems are provided. We will provide the information necessary to show the jurisdiction advantages of ESFR systems and what trade offs are justified and have been allowed. Exiting Review & PlanOne of the best tools to expedite the plan review process is an exiting analysis using a floor plan of the project. CRSI will develop an exiting plan using your CAD floor plan drawing and return it to you on a disk or e-mail. Fire Alarm SystemsMetal buildings that are required to have a fire alarm system are also required to have a fire safety plan that includes instructions for emergency procedures, a summary of fire protection systems and a maintenance schedule for fire protection equipment. CRSI will prepare a fire safety plan and obtain approval from the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Hazardous MaterialsCRSI will review hazardous occupancies for compliance with the Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, NFPA standards and other regulations adopted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. This section will be expanded as soon as information is compiled.
